Gerry does all the technical "things" and fitting. He has trained with the worlds premier manufacturer of window treatments Silent Gliss and gives expert advise with attention to design & specification.
He fits and supervises installations of blinds , shutters & curtains . Gerry started by fitting curtains and blinds for the top designers in Dublin back in 1997. He has broadened and developed and changed as necessary to adapt to market trends . He is also trained to install wooden shutters & is one of the market leaders with a team of carpenters to assist. Gerry also attend all the relevant trade shows and workshops to keep up to date with new products . . Moterised blinds & curtains rails and bespoke bay curtain rails and poles are a speciality too. |
After training & qualifying as a general & paediatric nurse Paula & Gerry married in 1987. Paula always made things and remembers as a 4 year old cutting up a skirt to make a dress for a doll. After a course in the Grafton academy Paula put her talents to making curtains and was working for some of the top designers in Dublin. She remembers getting fabric in 1990 worth £125 m and the designers saying he could only trust her to cut it. No pressure!!! Paula's father gave in & taught her how to use a sewing machine at the age of 7, a skill Paula used throughout her life. (Anyone remember Nolan's School of music in the Liberties / the same Nolans.)
Wildthings now have a team of makers & upholsterers supervised by Paula. Interior design consultations ,buying and sourcing are all part of a days work Paula also adds relevant content and new product information to the website regularly. |
