Summer brings a refreshing change from normal everyday routine. It is a time for both calm and chaos out of which new ideas are born. We all hope for things to look forward to, festivals, concerts and holidays. We've just been to see Fleetwood Mac in Dublin. They remind me of summers spent listening over and over to their music. I put some pictures on instagram of my hair wrapped in flowers before we headed off. A friend from school said she reckoned I had officially lost the plot. My theory is your never too old to dress up and get in the spirit of things, although I did get some funny looks from some elegantly dressed ladies in the restaurant before we went. If you are on instagram please have a look @ Wildthings Interiors. Im only getting the hang of it so if you have any hints or tips please let me know. Following a busy weekend of events. From Leinster rugby's huge success & the many Halloween Parties, to the huge attendance at the Ideal Homes Show in the RDS. I am pleased to report, that I have been pointing you in the right direction. Oh yes, Shutters are most definitely the most sought after window treatment in Ireland right now. The Hampton's show-home at the exhibition had shutters from Luxaflex in many of the rooms. The colours shown were ivory and white, the most popular colours. The slat sizes shown too were the most popular at 63 mm. This shutter shows how versatile they are & how easily they fold back to clear the window & let lots of light in. When closed they can be tilted to adjust the light flow from maximum to almost blackout. This also shows how much security & privacy they offer when closed. There was huge interest at the show in Shutters and the different styles available. I was also impressed with the Luxaflex ivory wooden blind with the duck egg tape. There is also a range of plantation wooden blinds that look like shutters but are a fraction of the cost of plantation shutters. I have to compliment the organizers for the effort that went into the show home and the recognition of the trends in decorating the home. The colours used in the show house on the walls were also bang on trend favouring french greys and muted greens. However, the quality of the fabrics and the curtains could be improved. They were of very poor quality. But then we are very fussy about good curtains here at Wildthings :). If you would like any further information on the shutters used, or the wooden blinds, as Luxaflex agents we would be happy to help you. Wildthings Shutters are available nationwide: 10 % off whites & creams for November! What do you think of this Before & After? The walls were painted that fabulous Spinifex Grey I am always telling you about. The bathroom window had a chrome Venetian blind; nothing wrong with it after 10 years but the client just wanted a NEW look. The shutter is from our Vermont collection in a soft clay colour. The tilt bar allows various amounts of light to the room, as much or as little as you like. The shutters closed are almost blackout. It is a full height shutter & opens to the left & the right for access to the window. Shutters are one of our favourite "New Look" products to enhance your home.
