Maybe perfectly imperfect would be the best way to describe the relaxed look we are showing you today.
I personally love the asymmetric look . Try a locker on one side of the bed , maybe a chair at the other side? It takes a bit of confidence to attempt this but the result is fabulous.
Where to start though.... well with the walls of course. lets have a look....
Pink is definitely a "thing " this year.
Soft muted tones add a calming feel to a space .
Those of you that attend the interior shows like the house event in the RDS looking for inspiration for curtains, sofas and all the latest trends in interior design will be familiar with this look .
Brass is back too, did you notice ?
Our interior space is made up of memories and emotions , the things we collect over the years .
Invest in pieces that will stand the test of time .
We are privileged to be in different homes every day and get to see inside some really creative spaces.
The Irish by nature are full of personality and we surround and indulge our love of family and friends at every opportunity. This is often reflected in our homes and lately I have seen some homes with amazing collections of art and photography in Dublin.
Other homes have collections of musical memorabilia and some are sport mad and it is clear from the minute you walk through the door. The interior design of your ideal home should reflect your personality and not one dictated by whats available in showrooms.
We in Ireland have been exposed lately to a very sterile, bland brand of decorating. Most showrooms and showhouse display are the same. Same curtains and sofas, same furniture, same lighting. I get that they are playing it safe but a little bit of colour used cleverly goes a long way.
Most of us can see beyond that and we are lucky to work daily with clients who embrace their individuality and create unique spaces reflecting their lifestyle and personality.
Here are some tips to create your Ideal home.

Did you know brass is back?
Its been finding its way back in to our homes and is available to buy in most interior stores. Mix it with marble for a luxury timeless look.
Marble is our new obsession and although used mostly in bathrooms and kitchens for years we are now welcoming it into our living spaces too.
If your thinking of trying brass or marble in your space why not start with simple things like a lamp , a side table, or change a few handles on your kitchen cupboards ?
It is one of the biggest interior design trends for 2016.

Make a statement with a photo gallery wall.
Select some frames and photos and group them to make a themed wall. This looks good with frames of the same colour or get a vintage look going with a mix of frames. This takes time so be patient. The easy bit is hanging them ! See more in the blog about hanging art and pictures.
Hang a selection of small pictures or prints in groups / these can be letters ,poems, pictures postcards or your favorite birthday card, whatever you can find.
We all keep special things worth framing.
Hello everyone , Hello November, Hello January ,
Did I miss something? Oh don't worry we will all be reminded several times a day with supermarket music of the special month ahead. As it happens I have a few tips to get at least one job that gets put on the long finger sorted.Lets face it, we all mean to gather our favourite pictures and get frames but we don't all get around to actually doing it. Here are a few tips to get you started but first let me share a little joke.
First of all I would recommend that you collect the frames first . Decide where you want to put them , choose a colour scheme eg. all one colour or a mix / all the same shape or mixed. Once you have frames that you like you can decide what images to use & get them printed in the appropriate size. Then to arrange them. How to do that? Well let me show you. There are some rules even with mixed colours and sizes to arranging frames so here are some images to help you.
