So you moved house, or aspire to own a new home,or simply dream about it. Read on to find out where and whats trending and how to design the show house look but find your own unique style. Showhouse fit outs and interior design were always hot topic in Ireland. At one stage there were so many showhomes that it became the Sunday hobby. Now in 2016 and looking towards 2017 there are lots of new developments to view. Many of the building companies are building to high specifications and are including many extras features. We have picked a few of our favourites already launched here and look forward to the Autumn showhouse launches which we will feature soon. If you are updating your own home there are lots of ideas here to help you. We are delighted to be fitting out many of the homes in these developments and the extra design features and attention to detail make the interior design of these properties a dream. We particularly love playing with colour and although most showhomes play it safe, our top tip when decorating a showhouse is to surprise with unusual design, and clever use of colour. Too safe is bland and boring and so many of the showhouses out there are all the same. Top marks to the developers for attention to detail and introducing design led interior finishes comparable to luxury developments in London. The rest is up to the interior designer. Here are some of our favourite new homes. Rokeby Park by O'Flynn Capital Partners is an outstanding new development in Lucan Village. The high ceilings are fabulous and allow for an unclutterd look on the windows with ceiling to floor curtains and concealed curtain rails. Its a good idea to bring the curtains all the way back to the side walls for a more streamlined look . The paneling also adds to the decadence and luxury of the living space and always looks good. Make sure wainscoting or paneling is well designed and fits perfectly into each wall space. Keep the walls and paneling neutral and accessorise with colour for this look. or For a daring look try dark moody walls and panelling and neutral soft furnishing with splashes of colour from scatter cushions. n These high panoramic doors and windows open out on to the patio area at Rokeby Park. Maximise the view in your home by opening up a back wall and replacing with ceiling to floor doors . Dont forget you will need to shade the light and protect furniture from sunlight. Batterry operated moterised blinds are a great solution or try ceiling to floor voile curtains with an uncluttered wave finish. The showhouse at Castlegrange in Dublin 15 was fitted out to a very high standard by La Vista. The extended kitchen with sloped ceiling and sky lights add a feeling of space and height to an already spacious kitchen. Other striking features in this property are the high end chrome sockets and light switches . There are lots of variations available, chrome , white and brass. Yes I said brass, its hot and trending. A great investment to upgrade and achieve a professional finish. Enquiries to [email protected] Here at Rokeby Park ceiling to floor curtains add height to the space. A luxurious look is achieved with the addition of a studded deep buttoned french navy headboard and cushions. Headboards dont have to be elaborate, try a simple shape with just three central buttons for a more contemporary look. A spacious hall or entry as the Americans call it is a feature in many new homes. Attention to detail with the addition of deep skirting boards, door archritraves, panelling and coving are the key to achieving this look. Rokeby is on the market with www.sherryfitz.ie or www.rokebypark.ie Decorating showhouse bedrooms are one of our favourite things. We usually give the bedroom a personality by visualising the life and hobbies of the person sleeping there. Here is one of our favourite teenage bedrooms Combine two trends, the scandi and pastel and personalise with wall art . Rose quartz is the colour of the year and the Little green Paint company have a great range of pinks to try. My personal favourite is Dorchester pink. Photo from pinterest "Little liberty" Let me know if you try any of these looks or if you have found your dream home and need some advice. Don't forget to live the dream wherever you are.
