Window blinds although functional and aesthetic, they exist most of all to solve a problem. Lets look at some of the solutions and the latest innovative new products on the market . Moterised blinds are by far the best child safe blind product on the market . There are so many ways to moterise blinds but the two we use the most are . 1. Hardwired ...... the roller blinds are wired to the mains and operated by remote control or switch . 2. Battery operated re -chargable moterised roller blinds... (as seen on room to improve in Dermot Banonns house)from the Luxaflex range . We love these as there is no need for pre- wiring at the mains . No bulky battery pack as the battery is contained inside the roller. The remote control is easy to use and is programmable for up to 5 blinds and 3 different levels . Stop wherever you want too. Some can be controlled from an app . Re-charge easily just like charging a phone but only once or twice a year with normal use . They are a fraction of the cost of hardwired blinds (from €120 supplement per blind plus programming). They look sleek and uncluttered and lets face it , they add a luxury designer edge. Most of the extensions with lots of windows leading out to the garden and sliding or bi-fold doors go for this roller blind option. BLACKOUT BLINDS Well we all know there is blackout and then total blackout. ( I personally don't even close my blinds. I like to wake up in the morning naturally and my body clock seems to do the job nicely. The birds in spring however are a different story and earplugs sort that out for me) Back to blackout . The new total blackout roller blind system shown does exactly what it says. The blackout blind is contained within a frame and the sides are sealed blocking out all light . The headrail at the top encloses the roller and bracket blocking all light from escaping at the top . A regular blackout roller will have light bleed around all sides . Voile or privacy blinds are hugely popular now. These are ideal for privacy by day but when lights are on at night curtains or another layer of blinds are required for privacy. We love them because they let lots of light in too. Whites, off white and grey voiles are all available as standard rollers , moterise to add a designer look and fit in self contained cartridges if that's what you fancy . Blinds self contained in a cartridge are ideal where a blind is being used alone and a finished look is required. They are also ideal where a blind is mounted outside a recess on a wall . eg. Where there is a tilt and turn window and there may be no other solution but to wall mount a blind. They are available in white and chrome , brushed steel and can be covered in the same or contrasting blind fabric. A fabulous product with a designer edge to it. This double blind system combines a lot of the design elements already shown.
Voile blinds offer privacy by day and dimout or blackout blind fabric give privacy at night. All blinds on a double bracket system . Moterised so no chains and child safe. A plain finish for a stream lined uncluttered look . These are reverse rolled so the roller is behind the fabric and therefore not visible. The view isn't half bad either . Have you a view that deserves a fabulous window treatment ? There are endless ways to let the light shine in . Would you like to hear more ? Keep in touch and never miss a thing !
