At Wildthings, we believe joy and happiness can be found in the people and things we surround ourselves with. Living in the moment and comfort can be made easier by creating a beautiful space to enjoy.
On our new site, you will find autumn decor theme that brings you soft muted tones of greys, greens and blue. Add some flowers and foliage, fresh or artificial in a beautiful vase and some candlelight to the scene and get a blend of Hygee, Wildthings style and a home full of welcome.

As the season changes and the evenings get darker its time to embrace all the things that make staying home better. We all know about Hygee and the Nordic way of creating a comforting feeling of home .

Is there such a thing ?
Maybe perfectly imperfect would be the best way to describe the relaxed look we are showing you today. 
I personally love the asymmetric look . Try a locker on one side of the bed , maybe a chair at the other side? It takes a bit of confidence to attempt this but the result is fabulous.
Where to start though.... well with the walls of course. lets have a look....

Window blinds although functional and aesthetic, they exist most of all to solve a problem.
Lets look at some of the solutions and the latest innovative new products on the market .

We are privileged to be in different homes every day and get to see inside some really creative spaces.
The Irish by nature are full of personality and we surround and indulge our love of family and friends at every opportunity.  This is often reflected in our homes and lately I have seen some homes with amazing collections of art and photography in Dublin.
Other homes have collections of musical memorabilia and some are sport mad and it is clear from the minute you walk through the door. The interior design of your ideal home should reflect your personality and not one dictated by whats available in showrooms.

We in Ireland have been exposed lately to a very sterile, bland brand of decorating. Most showrooms and showhouse display are the same. Same curtains and sofas, same furniture, same lighting. I get that they are playing it safe but a little bit of colour used cleverly goes a long way.
Most of us can see beyond that and we are lucky to work daily with clients who embrace their individuality and create unique spaces reflecting their lifestyle and personality.

Did you know brass is back?
Its been finding its way back in to our homes and is available to buy in most interior stores. Mix it with marble for a luxury timeless look. 

Marble is our new obsession and although used mostly in bathrooms and kitchens for years we are now welcoming it into our living spaces too.

If your thinking of trying brass or marble in your space why not start with simple things like a lamp , a side table, or change a few handles on your kitchen cupboards ?

It is one of the biggest interior design trends for 2016.

I have been blogging away here for a few years and have been delighted with the feed back I get from my clients. Lots of you read about design problems , and have found some solutions here on how to solve them.

For someone without a "techi" background I am pretty happy about the fact that I blog at all. I have surprised myself at all the platforms, apps and tools I have had to learn to use over the past few years to keep up to date with all the demands of social media for business.
